The Problem
In the discovery phase, I worked with Sosido to identify issues with their current platform. Members struggled with frustrating logins, weak Q&A features and poor mobile experience. The outdated design hurt performance and sponsor interest, who wanted a modern interface to boost engagement. We analyzed two key competitors and found strengths such as easy navigation and mobile friendly interface. These insights set clear goals for revamping the current marketing site, member dashboard and email digest, focusing on usability, speed and visual design.
Website Planning
Next, I reorganized the structure of the marketing site and user portal. To tackle business goals, pain points and user needs, I created low-fidelity wireframes as a blueprint. These helped test layouts and information hierarchy before moving to visual design.
Designing with Scalability
I built a simple design system with a colour palette, typography, icons and reusable components such as buttons, input fields, cards and drop-down menus. The card-based layout organizes content clearly and improves accessibility. This streamlined the design and development process while ensuring consistency as Sosido grows in the future.
Landing Page Redesign
I redesigned the landing page by swapping text-heavy sections for illustrations and icons. These changes make core features stand out, improve readability and create better visual flow to guide users, boost engagement and leave a strong first impression.
Improving Accessibility for the Member Dashboard
After signing in or joining Sosido, members access articles, news and discussions via the left navigation panel. New articles post daily for fresh content. For quicker accessibility, I added a floating CTA button for “Customize Sources” letting users pick associations, journals and topics with coloured squares and mobile toggles. Preferences sync with their weekly Email Digest.
Facilitating In-Depth Discussions with Nested Threads
I redesigned the forum for easier participation, accessible from the left navigation or a “Ask a Question” CTA button in the bottom-right corner. Key improvements include nested threads for direct replies to keep discussions organized, plus image and file attachments, which are new features missing from the old platform to drive better collaboration.
Enhancing Clarity for the Weekly Email Digest
I redesigned the weekly email digest to deliver a clear summary of community activity directly to members’ inboxes. It now highlights member publications, news, and Q&A titles upfront, with each community’s logo for instant recognition. Unique colors on community titles boost readability and make key updates stand out.
The Sosido redesign fixes key platform issues by rebuilding it to better support healthcare collaboration. I simplified dense content, balanced user needs and kept critical clinical info easy to access. Through iterative design, stakeholder collaboration and user testing, the result is a streamlined, simplified experience that boosts clinical insights and engagement.
