The Challenge
The project began with an in-depth consultation with Sterling Sound to uncover business goals, key challenges and scope. We mapped the existing booking process, pinpointing usability issues and pain points such as availability conflicts, unclear booking confirmations and poor mobile accessibility. These insights shaped targeted solutions to streamline their workflow.
Improving the User Flow Analysis
After spotting usability issues, I broke down the current booking flow to cut extra steps such as repeated data entry and confusing multi-page forms. I rebuilt it into a simple sitemap. This reduced navigation hassle by 40%, matching Sterling Sound's goals and making it easier for artists and engineers.
Establishing Layout and Visual Hierarchy
With the new sitemap ready, I created wireframes to map out layouts and functions for key pages such as engineer selection, payment and upcoming sessions. These low-detail wireframes prioritized clear user paths and logical page structure to make navigation easy. I tested the flow and gathered feedback before adding visual design.
Prototype for Usability Testing
I built a working prototype to share with stakeholders, confirming smooth flow and full functionality. This ensured the final product met user expectations and design goals. Minor tweaks followed based on their feedback.

Seamless Booking with Progress Tracking
The final designs deliver clean screens from engineer selection to session payment completion. A new progress bar shows completed steps and what's next, building trust through transparency. After booking and payment, users land on the dashboard to track upcoming/past sessions, invoices and easily book again.

Feedback for Better Flexibility
Feedback led to a new design feature for better flexibility — if the chosen engineer can't meet the selected deadline, users pick from other engineers with different dates and pricing. This gives more control, cuts delays and smooths the booking process.
According to feedback, the redesign cleared booking confusion, sped up scheduling by 40% and reduced drop-offs. Instant access to sessions, invoices and rebooking saved users time with higher engagement and conversions.
